Reward Dog Training

Many people think that the formation of reward is the modern method of dog training. It is my belief that the formation of reward precedes leash training. It is reasonable to believe that reward training pretty well was developed from early humans. This would be true in particular for priests of people that has preserved animals as a form of worship.

In my library have a book since 1930 describing the principles of training many modern reward. This is the first much of scientific research operant conditioning methodology conditioning was published. This shows that people who live and work with animals (especially dogs), often have a better feeling for the real world than institutionalised. authorities As I have been known to say, "If you know the dogs, do you know about life".

When one considers the historical importance of reward training styles, it is important to remember that the scientific study and application of these systems is only about half as old as leash training.

It was only in the last 10-15 years that reward training came into vogue. One thing I have noticed on many trainers who practice a style of training is that reward often speak fairly badly trainers who use any style leash training. When I see this verbal aggression, I always think that they are not qualified as practicing reinforcement are to preach it.

People who only reward training I think part of the response to the behavior of the dog, is the only answer. From the other side are trainers leash that say training reward will not work unless the rewards carry with you. These trainers sometimes speak evil training reward. They simply don't know enough about reward training and/or not only believe in it. However, are not hypocritical in their views when they say bad things about formation of reward, as their training system is more confrontational style.

Clicker training has become all the rage in recent years.Once again, in my library I found a book that describes this whim training fashionable 1990s very early in the 1960s. Clicker training is very effective, especially for people with poor verbal discipline.

I used a clicker training from early to mid 1980s. Firstly I introduced a style of reward training in my programs in the late 1970s.

At that time, most trainers dog that I knew said it wouldn't work reward training and not using it. When I worked for these people just stopped to tell them how I trained, and who would be surprised at the results I achieved.

Usually training will integrate food rewards reward or a reward that is somehow associated with food (this could be a toy).Formation of reward is the only way you can train some complex types of behavior.

I think it would have been much more difficult to teach my dog to ride his skateboard I had only used the leash and collar. For this type of training, rewards were the most effective approach. formation of reward is also the most effective way to teach many types of military skills, such as the detection of perfume, detection and apprehension criminal and police.

Formation of reward can be effective in teaching commands obedience. Basically we can think of all the behaviors that we bring under the control of command, simply as units of behavior. If we look at the training from this point of view, we can see that the teaching of a trick is the same as the teaching of a command of obedience.

In the formation of reward a recall is often used to get the dog to the desired location. The purpose of the call is to get the dog to perform a desired behavior of the will of his dog, without any physical manipulation by the operator.

Get the dog to perform a behavior without touching the dog makes a lot of sense, especially when we consider that the initial reaction of a dog to touch is defensive. In General, the touch mask all other stimuli. This would mean, in theory, that if you tap the dog will pay more attention to the touch than anything else, such as the command you use (discriminant stimuli).

Once the dog has performed the desired behavior is rewarded or reinforced. most reward training styles also incorporate a reward conditioning of some sort.Probably the most common is a word like "Good" and the clicker now famous.

To get past the complaint trainers leash convinced, "no rewards, no" behavior, we need to integrate the programming in reward our training programmes, as well as contingent rewards.

To make a reliable reward trained dog involves the same thing as make a trained dog leash reliably. one of the secrets for trusting a dog is working the dog around distractions and proper socialization.

Too many times reward trained dogs are trained only inside the House or yard when only the handler is present. on the side of the formation of the leash, we see people who work the dog when they take on walks. to build in reliability, work your dog inside the House, in the courtyard, on the street and in the community is a good idea to have friends to come home to help you train your dog. This will give you the opportunity to train your dog with the company.

The other thing that will help make more reliable a dog is to teach the dog to pay attention. "If you've got the attention of your dog will have control of the dog ". are there technical training in both the reward and the formation of leash that will encourage the dog to pay attention to the handler.
